Ranch Data – Weather
Weather plays a major role in influencing several metrics that we are tracking at TomKat Ranch. Whether it is birds, plants, water or soils, shifting climatic conditions make a big difference. This is especially true given that weather data collected over the past decade has shown significantly hotter and drier conditions, as well as more infrequent and intense storms. Gathering and sharing weather data is therefore critical to interpreting other data and offering insights into adaptation strategies.

Point Blue Conservation Science established a weather station at TomKat Ranch in September 2010. Since then, we have observed consistently warm weather, new record temperatures, and extreme drought conditions.
