Ag Day at the Capitol

Recently, TomKat Ranch Educational Foundation partnered with Agricultural Platform Collective (APC) at Ag Day at the Capitol. We had the opportunity to share our work and connect with state legislators and other organizations involved in regenerative agriculture.

Ag Day at the Capitol is an annual celebration that recognizes and celebrates the important role that California’s agricultural sector has on our economy and our communities. The day serves as a platform for state legislators, government leaders, and the public to learn more about efforts and organizations that are supporting agricultural programs across the state and helping to shape food systems.

Each year, producers, agricultural associations, corporations, universities, government agencies, and many others across the state come together to acknowledge the contributions of agriculture.

On this day, TKREF showcased the work we’ve been doing with our livestock to improve soil health, water quality, diversity, animal welfare, and healthy food. APC featured some tasty citrus from Healthy Route Farm (Rio Linda,CA ), a partner in their efforts to provide market access, technical support, and secure land opportunities for small-scale producers.

We were excited to see many of our friends, including the California Wheat Commission, Community Alliance with Family Farmers, CCOF, CDFA Farm-to-School, CalCAN, and so many more. It was a wonderful way to showcase California’s abundance in agriculture.
